Service rugby players don’t retire - they just start playing golf!

The club hosts an annual stableford competition for the Duggan Cup in greater Belfast each September but also makes an away trip in the spring.
This year almost 20 golfers including former players and friends visited Dunfanaghy links in Donegal where they played for the ‘ship in a bottle’ trophy donated by retired hockey player and Service patron Richard Comyns before he emigrated to Australia in the mid 1980s.
Former scrum half Hugh Kirkwood won this year’s sun-kissed event with a spectacular 37 points in a challenging breeze.
Hugh is pictured left receiving his trophy from Richard who is currently back in Northern Ireland.

All members, past and present, are welcome to take part in either of our bi annual outings.
