The Oval Ball Golf Society, was founded around 1980 by members of Civil Service (NI) RFC. There are two outings each year beginning with a weekend away in May, usually to Donegal, and a second one, traditionally at Knock Golf Club in the autumn, when we play for the oldest trophy in the rugby club’s possession, the Duggan Cup.
This year we are staying once again in Dunfanaghy, Co.Donegal, from 17th to 19th May. I have provisionally booked a number of rooms in Arnold’s Hotel and additional ones may be available if required.
Costs are as follows:-
(a) 2 x dinner, 2 x B & B = 155 Euros pps (Twin Rooms)
(b) 2 x dinner, 2 x B & B = 195 Euros pp (Single Room)
(c) 1 x dinner,1 x B & B = 77.50 Euros pps. (Twin Rooms)
Tee times have been booked at Dunfanaghy Golf Club:
Friday 17th at 2.00pm; and
Saturday 18th at 12.00pm.
Green fees, payable at the golf club, are 18.75 Euros on Friday and 22.50 Euros on Saturday.
If you would like to attend, and new members would be especially welcome, please get in touch with me as soon as possible. You need to let me have details of your accommodation and golf requirements together with the name of whoever will be sharing your room. The closing date is 6 April.
